Helen Iannacone, nee Giammarino, 91, of South Plainfield, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2016 at The Woodlands in Plainfield surrounded by the love of her family.
Born and raised in Jersey City to the late Carmen Antonio and Romilda Giammarino, she has resided in South Plainfield for the past 54 years.
Helen worked as an Administrative Assistant, before becoming a Paraprofessional with the South Plainfield Board of Education for 19 years before her retirement.
Mrs. Iannacone was a communicant of The Church of the Sacred Heart in South Plainfield, where she served as a Rosarian for over 50 years. She was an avid gardener who had a natural talent for fine interior design. She enjoyed trips to New York and traveling with her family. Helen was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed cooking, baking, and spending quality time with her cherished family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Anthony V. Iannacone in 1995, and her dear brothers Louis Giammarino and Angelo Giammarino
Surviving are her loving children, Mark Iannacone, Anthony Iannacone, and Mary Beth Iannacone, her dear sister, Edie Modrak, her many godchildren, extended family and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 22, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM on Saturday, July 23rd at The Church of the Sacred Heart, 149 South Plainfield Ave, South Plainfield. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park Mausoleum in Piscataway
Memorial contributions may be made in Helen's memory to the Rosary Alter Society of Sacred Heart Church.
