Lewes, DE - Marguerite (Peggy) Askew, 95, died on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at the Harbor Health Care and Rehabilitation in Lewes, Delaware.
Born in Plainfield, Mrs. Askew resided in South Plainfield for nearly 25 years prior to moving to Bricktown in the early 1970's before recently relocating to Lewes, Delaware.
Marguerite worked as a secretary for the Borough of South Plainfield for many years and also worked at the Riley Elementary School in South Plainfield in the same capacity prior to her retirement at the age of 62.
She is predeceased by her husband William; parents, Charles and Helen Barry and brother, William Barry.
Surviving are her sons, William B. Askew and his wife Kathy of Rohobeth, DE, and James Askew and his wife Kathy of Milton DE; daughter, Patricia Torriero and her husband Joseph of Alton, NH; six grandchildren, Jennifer Danek, Charles Askew, James M. Askew, Michele Lucie, Jill Blinebury, and Ricky Rieger and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 19, 2016 at 9:45AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals 2425 Plainfield Ave. South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
Interment will follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
