Obituary of Laura E Fellin
Laura Fellin, 93, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ, surrounded by her family.
Born and raised in Freeland, PA, to the late Daniel and Rose Bove, Laura graduated from Freeland High School, and not long after, married Steven Fellin. The two relocated to Middlesex, NJ in 1948, where they raised their four children. Laura remained a proud resident of Middlesex for over 70 years.
Throughout the years, Laura worked part-time as a waitress at the Sunset Diner and Riverview Diner. However, her greatest joy was being at home raising her children.
While living in Middlesex, she was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church. As her family grew, Laura embraced her role as a grandmother wholeheartedly. Her grandchildren, and later her great-grandchildren, became the center of her world. Whether babysitting them when they were young or hosting cherished Sunday dinners, the time spent with her family were the moments she held closest to her heart.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, Steven A. Fellin; son, Steven A. Fellin, Jr.; daughter, Donna Coppola; and sister, Carmella Schiermeyer, Laura is survived by her loving daughter, Janet Smith and her husband, Jim, and her son, Scott Fellin. She will also be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Kelly (Matt) Petti, Lisa Mangold, Ryan (Jaclynn) Murray, Scott (Heather) Fellin, Matthew (Christina) Smith-Marino, Michael Fellin, Shannon (Robert) Marchetti, and Kristopher (Kim) Fellin; her cherished great-grandchildren, Matthew Petti, Jr., CJ Petti, Shane Murray, Nate Murray, Carter Fellin, Cameron Fellin, Miles Marino, and Sophie Marino; and her siblings, Victor Bove, Lucille Butler, and Daniel Bove, along with a host of extended relatives and dear friends.
A visitation will be held at Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ, on Monday, March 30, 2026, from 4 PM to 8 PM.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at 9:30 AM. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home beginning at 9 AM.
Entombment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park, 899 East Lincoln Avenue, Piscataway, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, the Fellin family has requested that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in Laura’s name.
Laura’s love, warmth, and devotion to her family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
