
Obituary of Michael N. Encardone
Manville – Michael N. Encardone, 80, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2026 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset in Somerville.
Born in Union, Michael grew up in South Plainfield before settling into Manville 25 years ago. He served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1967-1972 where he worked as a letter carrier during his honorable service.
A career machinist, Mike began his career with A&A in South Plainfield then Manroland in Middlesex before retiring from Pamarco in Roselle. He was a life member and bartender of the IA Club in South Plainfield, as well as a communicant of Sacred Heart RC Church.
In his younger years, Mike enjoyed working on cars, dancing, playing cards, fishing as well as watching TV.
Predeceased by his two brothers, Edward and Thomas Encardone; surviving are his wife of 54 years, Deborah (Ettere) Encardone and two children, Dana Encardone and Michael Encardone. He will also be missed by his brother in law, Sonny Ettere and wife Karen; sisters in law, Sally Pornovets and husband Robert and Janice Encardone as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026 from 11AM – 1PM in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080.
