
Obituary of Nora Bautista Realuyo
Dr. Nora Bautista Realuyo, of Piscataway, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 16, 2026, in New Brunswick, New Jersey. She was 90 years old.
Born on October 16, 1935, in Alabat, Quezon, Philippines, Nora was the beloved daughter of Melencio and Concepcion Bautista and was the seventh of 10 children. She pursued her medical education at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. It was there that she met her future husband, Pompeyo Roa Realuyo, who was studying law at the time. Their meeting began a loving partnership that would span over 63 years of marriage.
Known professionally as Dr. Bautista, Nora devoted her life to the practice of medicine and the care of others. For nearly thirty years, she served as a Cardiologist at Bird S. Coler Hospital on Roosevelt Island in New York City. Through her dedication, expertise, and leadership, she rose to become the Director of Medicine, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues and the gratitude of countless patients whose lives she touched. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Bautista was passionate about education and served as a professor at New York Medical College, where she mentored and inspired many future physicians. Dr. Bautista was beloved by fellow physicians, nurses, and all who had the privilege of working alongside her.
Outside of her professional life, Nora found great joy in dancing and traveling. Together with her husband, she explored the world, visiting more than forty countries over the course of their marriage.
Nora is survived by her loving children, Celina Realuyo and Alberto Realuyo and his wife Heidi; and by her cherished grandsons, Alexander Realuyo, Second Lieutenant, United States Air Force, and Nicholas Realuyo, Cadet at the United States Air Force Academy. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Pompeyo Roa Realuyo, by only seven weeks.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Nora on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 9 am to 11 am at Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway, New Jersey. Interment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway, New Jersey.
Dr. Nora Bautista Realuyo will be remembered for her remarkable dedication to medicine, her devotion to family, and the countless lives she touched through her kindness, wisdom, and care. Her legacy lives on in the many patients she healed, the physicians she mentored, and the family she loved so deeply.
