Please share a memory of Ruth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Ruth Janiszak, 77, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Brightview Senior Living in Paramus, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Ruth grew up in Glendale, Missouri, and later became a longtime resident of South Plainfield, New Jersey. Ruth lived a life marked by love, resilience, and unwavering faith. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose gentle spirit touched all who knew her.

Ruth was known for her warm, nurturing presence and the way she made a house feel like a home. Some of her family’s most cherished memories include her baking in the kitchen with music playing, windows open, filling the home with warmth and comfort. She shared a deep love for her family and always created moments of connection—whether through conversation, laughter, or simply being present with those she loved. Ruth had a quiet strength about her—one shaped by both the challenges and triumphs of her life—and she faced each season with courage and grace.

During her young adult years, Ruth met her husband, Clarence, on a singles trip she took with friends, and together they shared a long and loving marriage. Music was a central part of their life together; both Ruth and Clarence held a deep passion for it. Ruth taught piano lessons for many years, and during the holidays, the family would perform music together at church — a tradition filled with joy, harmony, and togetherness. As a family, they also proudly performed for veterans on both Memorial Day and Veterans Day, honoring service members through music and community.

Ruth was also a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), an organization she held in high regard. She took great pride in her heritage and in the values the DAR upholds, finding meaning and connection through its work.

A woman of deep faith, Ruth lived out her beliefs through kindness, compassion, and a heart always open to others. She will be remembered for her resilience, her loving spirit, and the peace she found in her relationship with God.

Predeceased by her beloved husband, Clarence, and stepson, David, Ruth is survived by her son, Stephen, and his wife, Samantha; her daughter, Pamela; her cherished grandchildren, Charlotte and Liam; her brother, Richard Taylor, and his wife, Linda; and her stepchildren, Amy Walker her husband and children, and Richard Janiszak his wife and children.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025, from 4:00–7:00 p.m. at South Plainfield Funeral Home, 2456 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080.

A Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, also at the funeral home.

Immediately following the service, Ruth will be laid to rest at Clover Leaf Memorial Park in Woodbridge, New Jersey.

Ruth’s love, strength, and legacy will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Alzheimer’s Association in Ruth’s memory.
