Obituary of Elizabeth Hernandez

Elizabeth Hernandez, 56, of Piscataway, NJ, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025 in Somerville, NJ. She was born on January 28, 1969 in Newark, NJ and was one of four siblings to Jose Hernandez and Carmen Jimenez. After being raised in Newark, NJ she relocated to Piscataway, NJ where she lived for the last 20 years.

Elizabeth began her studies at Essex County Vo Tech and then continued on to study at Essex County College where she studied journalism. She was employed at Target in South Plainfield, NJ when it first opened. She pursued a position at the photo lab, due to her love for photography and then continued to serve customers in Guest Services. She loved interacting with all people and always spread her kindness through everyone she met through dancing and sharing new music.

Elizabeth’s family was her entire life. She is survived by her beloved husband and High school sweetheart Nelson Perez Sr., her daughter Emily I. Perez and her son Nelson Perez Jr. She always wholeheartedly supported and had love for our veterans and first responders of this nation. Especially when both of her children entered those career fields. She supported her children in any decision they made, and always was a proud mother. She got to travel around the united states with her husband and children happily. She was selfless and always cared about others before herself. She was a mother everyone wanted.

There will be a visitation for Elizabeth at the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road Piscataway, NJ on Sunday, October 19, 2025 from 3-5pm. Elizabeth will be cremated in private.
