Obituary of Helen Jean Getz

Somerset, NJ – Helen Jean Getz, 92, passed away peacefully at Regency Jewish Heritage Nursing Home in Somerset on March 17, 2025.  Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA to the late Andrew and Helen Ulitchney, Helen moved to Piscataway in 1963 and was a resident until moving to Somerset in 2007.

She spent her time caring for her family as a homemaker.  Helen was a former member of Our Lady of Fatima Church; she loved bingo and was a happy and fun person, especially the times she spent with her family.

Predeceased by her husband Barney Getz, Helen leaves behind her daughter Lori Sullivan and her husband Ed, son Robbie Gets and his wife Daisy, granddaughter Megan Sullivan and grandsons; Andrew Sullivan and Ashton, Christian and Bryce Getz.

Visitation will be held at Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway, NJ 08854 on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 from 10am until the 12pm prayer service.  Helen will be laid to rest with her husband in the family plot of Holy Redeemer Cemetery in South Plainfield.
