Obituary of Mary C. Bannon

Mary Carole Bannon, 79, passed away early Monday morning March 17, 2025 surrounded by family after battling cancer.

Mary was born in Carteret and resided in South Plainfield for over 60 years before relocating to Red Bank nearly 4 years ago.

She was a member of the St. Demetrius Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral in Carteret for over 50 years and worked as the school nurse at Kennedy Elementary School in South Plainfield for nearly 26 years prior to her retirement.

Mary truly cherished every moment she spent with her family and friends, hosting family gatherings and was very faithful to her church.

She is predeceased by her husband John who passed in 2019, her father Frank Wrublevski who passed in 2018 and by her mother Mary Wrublevski who passed in 2023.

Surviving are her children, Shawn Bannon and his wife Vanessa of Leonardo and Tara Doyle and her husband Jason of Atlantic Highlands; grandchildren who adored her with great love, Sophia, Cora, and Declan; sister, Nancy Grabie and her husband Alan and brother, Frank Wrublevski and his wife Mickey.

The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025 at 11:30am at St. Demetrius Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral 645 Roosevelt Ave. Carteret, NJ 07008.

Immediately following the funeral service, Mary will be laid to rest at Clover Leaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 4-8pm along with a 7pm Parastas Service in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals 2425 Plainfield Ave. South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
