Obituary of Thanarayan Shivraj

South Plainfield - Thanarayan Shivraj “Dave”, 61, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at JFK Medical Center, Edison.

Born in Guyana, Dave started in the banking industry at 17 with the The Royal Bank of Canada in Guyana.  He immigrated to the United States in 1985 and settled to South Plainfield seven years later.  After working in different banking institutions, Dave ended his career with Wells Fargo as a financial broker.

Dave had a passion for golf and enjoyed playing at different courses in New Jersey and Florida, where he shared a residence in.  He also enjoyed cricket and watching most sports.

Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Renuka Shivraj; two children, Ravin Shivraj and Ramona Shivraj; father, Purshotam Shivraj and siblings.

Family and friends may gather in the funeral home on Monday, May 22, 2023 from 4-9PM in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday May 23, 2023 beginning at 9AM in the funeral home.  Cremation will follow in Rosehill Crematory, Linden.
