Age: 96 * South Plainfield

South Plainfield, NJ – Odessa (Guffey) Lemley, 96, passed away at St. Peter’s University Hospital on Wednesday, March 22, 2023.  Born in Vandergrift, PA, Odessa lived in Passaic until settling in South Plainfield in 1966.

For twenty-five years, Odessa was a cashier at Pathmark in South Plainfield.  A devoted Christian, Odessa loved her faith and was active within the community of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in North Plainfield.

Predeceased by her sisters Alene of Youngstown, OH and Charlotte of Cape May, Odessa leaves behind her children; Brian Lemley of South Plainfield, Scott Lemley and his wife Dee of Bangor, PA and Beth Oliver and her husband Tom of Clarion, PA.

Visitation will be held at McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 on Saturday, April 1, 2023 beginning 2:00pm.  A concluding service will be held at 4:00pm with a private burial being held at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations sent in Odessa’s name to the Plainfield Area Humane Society (www.pahs.org) would be appreciated.
