Obituary of Jack Marabella
Plainfield, NJ – Jack Marabella, 56, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February, 22, 2023, at JFK Medical Center in Edison, NJ.
Born in Elizabeth, NJ, Jack resided in Edison for most of his childhood, graduating from JP Stevens High School.
Following graduation, he went to work as a Laborer for the Laborers Union, Local 394, for eight years, before opening an AAMCO Transmissions and Total Car Care Franchise. He has owned and operated the franchise for over 20 years alongside his wife Jackie.
Jack was an active member, and former President, of the Ribera Club in Elizabeth, where he could often be found with friends, playing cards. His favorite times were spent with family and friends. Jack always enjoyed cooking for those around him, especially pizza in his pizza oven, but time together was what was important. He loved to laugh, and his main goal was to make his wife and kids happy.
Predeceased by his father, Carmelo Marabella, he is survived by his wife, Jackie (nee Sabin) Marabella; children, Carmen Marabella, Lia Marabella, and Teresa and her husband Anthony Tarantola; granddaughter Eliza; and mother, Theresa (nee Miceli) Marabella. He will also be missed by his brothers, Paul and his wife Trisha Marabella, and Carmine and his wife Laine Marabella; sister - in - law Jody Guida, as well as his many nieces and nephews and a host of extended relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held at the McCriskin – Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ, on Monday, February 27, 2023 from 4 PM to 8 PM.
A funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart RC Church, 149 South Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ, on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at 10 AM. Family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home prior to mass, beginning at 9 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the Marabella family has asked that donation be made to Autism New Jersey, in Jack’s name.
