Obituary of Mei Feng Wu
Mei Feng Wu, 51, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Somerset in Somerville.
Born in Fuzhou, Fujian Province, China, Mei arrived to the United States in 1999 been a resident of South Plainfield for the past 25 years.
Along with her husband Jimmy, she was the owner and operator of the Dollar Depot Store Plus in Plainfield for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her primary priority in life was to care and provide for them.
She is predeceased by her parents, Cheng Nan Wu and Si Mei Chen, as well as her father–in– law, Sin Yee Chang.
Mei is survived by her husband, Jimmy Cheng; children, Keri and Darren Cheng; siblings, Chin Huan Wu, Mei Yu Wu, Mei Ching Wu and Mei Fang Wu and mother-in-law; Yu Ching Cheng. Also surviving are the many extended members of the Cheng family along with numerous additional relatives and friends.
The Cheng family will be receiving guests for visitation on Sunday, February 26, 2023 from 2-6pm in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals 2425 Plainfield Ave. South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
The Funeral Service will begin at 11am on Monday, February 27, 2023 in the funeral home.
Immediately following the funeral service, Mei will be laid to rest in the Cheng family plot at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains, NJ.
