Obituary of Mary Katherine Glockner

Lakewood – Mary Katherine Glockner, 63, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022 surrounded by her family at home in Lakewood.    

Born in New Brunswick, Mary grew up in Edison and Piscataway where she enjoyed attending McAuley School as well as various day and work programs.  She was a talented swimmer, winning many ribbons during the Special Olympics. She also enjoyed performing, participating in the Box Players Wizard of Oz show.  She settled to Lakewood in 2000 where she made many more friends.

Mary enjoyed listening to music and dancing.  She had the opportunity to travel to Las Vegas and see her favorite musician, Barry Manilow, in concert where she gave him a kiss on the cheek during his show.

Predeceased by her father, Harold F., she is survived by her devoted mother, Ann (Gabriel) Glockner; three siblings, Stephen Glockner and his wife Mary, Joanne Cilfone and husband Don and Carol Glockner and husband Brian McInerney as  well as her niece, Katherine (Glockner) Orban and husband Derek; nephews, Daniel Glockner and wife Jenna, Alex Cilfone, Joseph Cilfone, John Cilfone, Thomas Cilfone and wife Marta; great nieces, Nora Glockner, Maura Orban, Hannah Orban and great nephew, Benjamin Cilfone. 

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 6, 2022 at 9am in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield, NJ followed by a 10am funeral mass at St. Mary’s RC Church, Plainfield.

Entombment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway.

Family will be receiving relatives and friends in the funeral home on Thursday, January 5, 2022 from 7-9pm.
