Obituary of Raymond R. Harcar
Piscataway, NJ – Raymond R. Harcar, 77, passed away in the early hours on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at his daughter’s home in Readington Township. Born in New Brunswick to the late John and Sophie (Dendis) Harcar, Raymond was a lifelong resident of Piscataway. After marrying his wife, Lucille Cremone, in 1968, the two chose to continue growing their family here in town.
Raymond worked for the Piscataway Department of Public Works for forty-nine years, before retiring as the Superintendent of Operations.
In his younger years, he enjoyed time outdoors on camping trips, and as he got older, he could often be found working around the house and keeping a well-manicured lawn. Raymond’s true passion in life was his antique cars. Whether it was rebuilding or maintaining his cars, he found great joy in them, especially when he attended various car shows.
Predeceased by his son, Raymond Jr. and brother, John Jr., he leaves behind his wife, Lucille; daughter Dana DeLair and her husband John; grandchildren Desiree and her husband Jared, Jonathan, Daniel, Michael, and Ashley DeLair; great-grandchildren Braxton and Wyatt, and sisters Arlene and Sophie along with a host of extended relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held at the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway, NJ, on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 from 4 pm to 8 pm with a concluding service beginning 7:30pm.
Please join the Harcar family as Raymond's cremated remains are laid to rest at Resurrection Burial Park on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at 10:00am.
