Obituary for George G. Crynock

Middlesex, NJ – George Gerome Crynock, 94, passed away at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Somerset in Somerville on Wednesday, August 8, 2018. Born in Jeddo, PA to the late George and Susan (Ross) Crynock, George has been a resident of Middlesex since 1954.

A survivor of the Battle of the Bulge, the last major German offensive campaign on the Western Front during World War II, George was honorably discharged from the United States Army in April of 1946.

For over forty years, George was an electrician for American Cyanamid in Bound Brook, retiring in the mid 1970’s. An avid outdoorsman, George had a love for walking, fishing for trout, hunting for deer, rabbit and pheasants. He enjoyed his food, especially pasta, venison and his homemade meatballs.

George was a former Boy Scout Leader of Troop 49 in Middlesex and was a member of Our Lady of Mount Virgin Parish. Known as “Pop” to all those that knew him, he will be deeply missed especially by his son, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Predeceased by his wife Frances who died on August 9, 1999, George leaves behind his loving and devoted family; son Gery and his wife Rosemary of Middlesex, grandchildren; Teresa and her husband Tony of Moyock, NC, Kevin and his wife Ana of Woodland Park, Scott of Beverly Hills, CA, and Faith of Middlesex, great-grandchildren; Zach and Jack of Moyock, NC, and Liliana of Woodland Park.

George also leaves behind his trusted four-legged companions; grand-dogs Roxy, Ruby, Winston, Riley, Casey and Emmit and grand-cats Kitty and Ms. Daisy.

Visitation will be held in Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846 on Friday, August 10, 2018 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm and on Saturday, August 11, 2018 beginning 8:45 am.
