Obituary for Francisco James Guzman

Francisco James Guzman
Francisco James Guzman, 65, of North Plainfield, went home to be with the Lord on January 10, 2018 at Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center in Rahway.

Born in Morelia, Mexico to the late Nicholas and Aurora Guzman, he was raised in Manhattan, New York.
Mr. Guzman at a young age was an alter boy at St.Pauls Parish in New York City. He attended St.Pauls Academy Grammar School and Graduated from Rice High School

He then went on to attend John Jay College of Criminal Justice and shortly after was drafted during the Vietnam War where he proudly served his country in the United States Navy.
After his honorable discharge, Frank went on to attend DeVry University and graduated at the top of his class.

An accomplished percussionist, Frank spent over 15 years with Radio City Music Hall, performing in countless shows and most notably the Christmas Spectacular.

He met his beloved wife, MaryAnne Berrios, at Lord, Day & Lord law firm in New York City.
They settled in North Plainfield and raised their cherished daughter, Danielle. Mr. Guzman spent his career with EcoLab in Avenel as a Field Service Manager.

He was a faithful man of God with a gentle spirit and devoted his time to Grace Church of North Brunswick, Faith Fellowship Ministries and Victory Worship Center where he was a member of the music ministry.

Frank was very generous and happy to help anyone in need. As a creative person he liked building models and tinkering with electronics and other things. Frank was also an avid artist and enjoyed creating music, playing the bongos, jamming with friends and family, playing worship songs, and held many other talents. When he went through challenges in life, Frank never complained but stayed strong and trusted God.

Surviving are his beloved wife MaryAnne Berrios Guzman, his loving daughters, Anita LaBrecque and husband Michael, and Danielle Guzman, his dear siblings, Yolande Berk and husband Stephen, Octavio Guzman and wife Brunhilda, and Filadelfo Guzman and partner Karrin Darkow, his grandchildren, in laws, nieces, nephews, extended church family, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00PM at the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00AM on Monday, January 15, 2018 at the funeral home.
